Thank you for your generosity!
The Ashes Playing Field Trust would like to thank the people of Howden for their generosity in raising more than £1,000 towards the development of the park in recent fundraising.
A collection bucket at the Co-Operative supermarket on Charles Briggs Avenue raised £660, while £535 was raised by the Ashes tombola at Howden Show on Sunday July 5. The total raised by Summerfest, held on the Ashes on Saturday July 11, has yet to be finalised.
Our thanks to Ben Troop, who instigated the Co-Op collection, plus all staff and customers of the store.
The money will go into the development fund for the refurbishment of the Ashes site, the planning of which is now in the very early stages.
The Trustees welcomed talking to so many people at the Show, discussing a range of ideas for the future development of the park and answering questions about the park’s future.
This is all helping The Ashes development fund to grow, with the Trust to announce details for public consultation on the future development of The Ashes before the end of 2015.
