The pavilion at Howden Bowls Club.

Help us shape future of our park

The Ashes Playing Field Trust (APFT) will share plans for the future development of the park this month.
Interest in the future of the charity-run park has been high since the cricket pavilion was destroyed by fire in April 2015.
APFT have had some proposals drawn up in partnership with charity Groundwork, who have been instrumental in helping us secure funding for recent developments to the Daphne D’Ark Playpark and bowls area.
These initial proposals have been drawn up after consultation sessions with trustees and local organisations with an interest in the park.
Feedback from members of the public at these open sessions will help APFT finalise a 10-year masterplan with a vision of how the people of Howden wish the park to look and operate as it builds towards its centenary year in 2027.
Trustees and representatives from Groundwork will be in the Shire Hall on the following dates:
Friday April 22: 2-30-5pm
Saturday April 23: 9am-1pm
Sunday April 24: 10am-1pm

APFT trustees will be happy to discuss anything concerning the park, while we will also be using it as an opportunity to launch our new Friends Of The Ashes scheme and display some exciting canvas prints recently donated to us by the Press Association which we are auctioning of.
